Most problems have a one-line fix. Here are the most common issues on Mac and Windows.
macOS quarantines apps downloaded from the internet and blocks their internal binaries from running. This is a standard macOS security feature — not a problem with the app itself. The fix is a one-time Terminal command that removes the quarantine flag from the entire app bundle.
After running this command, relaunch the app. You will only need to do this once.
The app's backend uses port 3000. If another application on your Mac is already using that port, the backend cannot start. Run the command below to check what is using port 3000, then quit that application.
If a process appears in the output, quit it and relaunch Excel AI Analyzer.
Windows SmartScreen may show a warning because the app is not yet code-signed with a commercial certificate. This is expected for indie apps. The app is safe to install — your data never leaves your machine. To proceed, click "More info" then "Run anyway".
This warning will disappear in a future release once the app is code-signed.
Send an email with a description of the problem and which platform you are using (Mac or Windows, OS version). Most issues can be resolved quickly.
